Merlin star, actor Anthony Head, is going to co-host BBC One’s Children in Need this year. The line-up was announced last week.

The 'mascot' of Children in Need: Pudsey
Scared of live TV Anthony first wanted to decline the invitation, however the cause was too important.
“When I was first approached to appear on Children in Need my first instinct was to say no as the thought of live television terrifies me. ”But how could I not take part when countless people across the United Kingdom are raising money doing extraordinary things for such a worthwhile cause?
“I am honoured to have been invited and am looking forward to working with the lovely Alex Lovell as I have always had a great time when she has interviewed me on her BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Somerset weekend show.”
Editor of Points West and Children in Need West, Stephanie Marshall said:
“It’s fantastic news that Anthony has agreed to join us and to co-present with Alex this year’s Children in Need for our region.
“We can promise visitors to BBC Bristol and viewers at home a night of fun and fundraising, an insight into where last year’s money went and, as always, a few surprises.”
